I discovered yoga by accident 15 years ago. I have always been interested in movement and exercise to keep myself physically and mentally well. Through my work as a holistic massage therapist I was aware of the mind, body connection. Yet I felt there was something more.
From my first yoga session I was hooked. I have practiced and trained in many different styles. All have taught me something. In 2011 I completed a yoga teacher training course to learn more about this beautiful ancient art, science and philosophy
My yoga practice and teaching is continually evolving, and I have been fortunate to have studied with some amazing teachers. I continue to learn and grow through attending workshops, training and self-enquiry. Each person I meet on the mat teaches me something. I have a deep interest in anatomy and functional movement and use somatic movement to enhance my teaching.
Yoga has enhanced my life, I love to play and explore and feel like a child within my practice, to undo tension, unwind and evolve. To listen deeply and follow the natural intelligence of the body, moving in waves and spirals. Yoga has enabled me to have more energy to be compassionate and to care for myself as well as others. I feel so grateful to be able share yoga, to support people to find freedom, let go of pain they may be holding, to feel strong, stable and flexible to cope with life’s challenges.
I offer a grounding, low impact mind and body therapeutic yoga practice. Using breath and fluidity to connect mind and body through playful movement. A hatha style of yoga practice inspired by the work of Vanda Scaravelli
